A combined wealth of talent and experience in the music business is what you get with A Social Function. The band is comprised of seven members, each one individual and outstanding in their own way. This talented group collectively plays over 156 gigs a year!
Jeff Anders (Lead and Rhythm Guitars, Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals): Jeff has been playing music professionally his entire life. He has to his credit the distinction of being a published and recorded
songwriter. Some of Jeff's most recent work can be heard on albums by such artists as Warren Haynes,GOV'T MULE, The Allman Brothers, and Rick Huckaby.
Ric Luther (Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, Percussion): Powerhouse singer Ric Luther is indeed quite at home on the stage. His smooth vocal styling and sultry R & B renditions leave people mesmerized. This talented artist has made a nice career out of performing in front of thousand's of people! Ric's work has been featured in musical theater productions, CD's, television and movies.
Johnny Jump(Lead Vocals, Backing vocals, Lead Guitar, bassist) The newest addition to this group, but not new to the members of the band. Johnny, Eric, and Rocky spent their formative years doing cover band work which lead them to Las Vegas. Johnny also toured as a bassist for Rhett Aiken along with Rocky. It is a pleasure to have him back from Nashville and settling in with the group.
Aaron LaFalce (Piano, Keyboards, Lead vocals): The youngest member of A Social Function. Aaron is no stranger to the stage. An accomplished singer, songwriter and performer. When not performing under his own name, Aaron brings his talent on Keys and Vocals to A Social Function.
Mark McDaniel (Keyboards, Backing vocals): Mark brings a lifetime of musical experiences to the group. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist and teacher. Mark has performed thousands of gigs throughout the country. As well as being a member of A Social Function, Mark enjoys playing with his own fusion group Kaizen.
Rocky Linsley (Drums, Lead Vocals, Backing vocals): Rocky has made an impressive living as a full-time professional musician. Playing in clubs since the age of 14, he has enjoyed success as a touring musician with country superstars Lorrie Morgan and Rhett Aiken. Rocky has also received several awards in The John Lennon Songwriters Contest. Rocky is the rhythmic glue that holds the music together. His power and intensity is a part of the magical ingredient of this band.
Michael VanGorder (Bassist, Backing vocals) Mike began his musical journey at the ripe old age of 15. He began professionally playing at the age of 16. Spending years developing a rock solid approach to rhythm section playing in country and southern rock bands. Upon relocating to Asheville, he quickly began to delve into other styles including rock, metal, jazz, and funk. As a independent studio musician he has played on individual artist CD's and TV jingles. All of these experiences have helped to contribute to the solid sound of A Social Function. | | |
